Architectural Design Competition 2024, 1st Prize
“Werkstadt Zurich Building X”
Gigon/Guyer Architekten with Leuthard Baumanagement
The site of the former Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) maintenance facilities in Zurich is to be transformed into a modern neighbourhood for urban production, creative industries and cultural events. We managed the architecture competition for SBB involving a project known as Building X, a seven-story manufacturing hub with cultural facilities. The full-service competition (“Gesamtleistungswettbewerb”) pursues highly ambitious sustainability goals while breaking new ground in circular construction with reusable materials.
