With its trinational concept for multimodal hubs, the Basel agglomeration is thinking ahead in terms of mobility and activating the potential for a modal shift. We defined seven types of public transport hubs that fulfill different functions and quality requirements. Our concept shows how to design the transfer between public transport, car, walking/cycling and sharing offers, and reveals spatial development potential around the hubs. The concept represents an important building block for the 5th generation agglomeration program.

As part of the project team, we provided the following services:

• Developing a methodology for the Basel agglomeration
• Coordinating with the various stakeholders involved
• Elaborating the concept for seven selected locations
• Creating visualizations for various future scenarios
