Text
While Chur is already one of Switzerland’s warmest cities, climate change will cause heat stress to increase further. We developed a policy paper on heat reduction for the city, which identifies areas where action is needed; specifies possible measures and how these can be implemented in land use planning and other instruments. Climate and planning reference maps formed the basis of this work. The paper serves as a foundation for the ongoing revision of the land use plan.
Our services
- District-specific examination of heat sinks and heat stress, including reference to city climate analyses and planning maps
- Examining the climate situation in detail, based on climate analysis and planning reference maps, among other things
- Identifying areas requiring urgent action
- Conducing an in-depth analysis and specifying measures in four focus areas
- Determining measures to reduce heat
- Considering the effects of more frequent heavy precipitation
