The canton of Thurgau was particularly affected by the drought in 2018. Water withdrawals from local rivers and streams was forced to stop, leaving the agricultural sector with insufficient water for irrigation. To prevent such occurrences in the future, we supported the Canton to develop a cantonal industrial and irrigation water supply plan. The plan shows current and future water demand along with water availability. We developed solutions for the future industrial and irrigation water supply and defined accompanying measures.
