In an integrated urban development master plan, the Swiss city of Rapperswil-Jona describes how the city should develop up to the year 2040. The master plan includes guiding principles for settlement development, mobility and green spaces. The master plan forms the basis for the revision of the town’s zoning framework.
Working together with our partners Uniola and urbaNplus, we developed the master plan in a participative process including the active involvement of local residents and a commission made up of political parties and interest groups.
In addition, we supported an urban design test planning which assessed the impact of a proposed bypass tunnel and incorporated our findings into the master plan.
