What do discarded banana peels, garden waste and cow manure have in common? They all contain climate-friendly energy! What’s more, biomass can also be processed into nutrient-rich fertilizers, soil enhancers and compost. Biomass energy is renewable and carbon-neutral. It is indispensable for our future energy supply.
In connection with the SwissEnergy program, Biomasse Suisse is promoting optimal ways of exploiting the potential that biomass offers as a source of energy and as a material that can be used for other purposes. The aim is find ways to close product cycles and to otherwise promote sustainable technologies that can replace fossil fuels, unburden the environment and reduce greenhouse gases.
The Biomasse Suisse Association came into being in 2015 from the merger of Biomasse Schweiz and the Swiss Association of Compost and Fermentation Works. EBP managed the business offices of the former Biomasse Schweiz and the business offices of Biomasse Suisse from February 2016 to August 2017. Until the end of 2019, EBP has continued to support the Biomasse Suisse Association.
