Aligned with EBP's global agenda to achieve carbon neutrality at the company level, the design of the new EBP Chile headquarters in Santiago has been planned. In collaboration with the prestigious architecture firm Izquierdo Lehmann, the design, evaluation, and life cycle analysis of CO2 emissions have been conducted for the "Burgos Net Zero" building located in the Las Condes commune. This mixed-use project, featuring both office and residential sectors, aims to achieve Minergie certification and maximize energy efficiency, reaching carbon-neutral operational status as well as zero embodied carbon.
The project
The design commission aims to achieve net-zero energy and net-zero operational and embodied carbon standards in the building:
Net-zero energy buildings: A building that, through its passive design and high-energy system performance, achieves negligible or zero energy consumption, with annual net energy consumption covered by renewable energy sources.
Net-zero carbon buildings: A net-zero energy building that, over its lifecycle (production, construction, operation, end-of-life), minimizes its embodied carbon emissions and offsets any remaining carbon balance.
