ArbIS can be used to plan and coordinate various construction phases of Bavarian roadworks, both short-term and long-term (known as AKD and ALD). A web browser serves as the user interface.
DThe ArbIS roadworks integration system used by the South Bavarian Motorway Authority was developed by EBP to optimally meet the needs of various user groups in the planning, coordination, approval, and monitoring of roadworks. ArbIS enables a centralized approach across different organizational levels.
Short-term work sites (AKD) are typically planned and carried out by local highway maintenance departments, while long-term work sites (ALD), such as new construction and reconstruction, are planned by government agencies and carried out by external companies. In total, ArbIS manages up to 50,000 AKD and 100 ALD annually. The comprehensive recording of all measures on the roads allows the traffic situation to be monitored on a daily basis.
ArbIS uses data from several geoinformation systems (GIS) for visualization. Work sites are processed exclusively as a web browser application. ArbIS is available as a single sign-on application for all authorized users.
ArbIS differs from its predecessor in that it maps a work site as a combination of several construction phases. This allows, for example, the construction or conversion phases of the work site to be planned and documented in detail.
Since ArbIS went live in 2016, EBP has been responsible for maintaining, servicing, and expanding the system. Since 2021, we have been tasked with modernizing and expanding the system's user interface with the aim of integrating additional stakeholders.
