To help Germany become a leading market for electric mobility, four regional “electric mobility showcases” will be funded with €180 million between 2012 and 2016. The four electric mobility showcases comprise LivingLab BWe mobil (Baden-Württemberg), International Electric Mobility Showcase Berlin-Brandenburg, Our Horsepower is Going Electric (Lower Saxony), and Electric Mobility Connects (Bavaria-Saxony). They were selected by the federal government on the recommendation of an independent expert jury and comprise 90 joint projects and 334 sub-projects.
The consortium consisting of the Wuppertal Institute, EBP, and hitec Marketing (Vienna) will evaluate the showcase program from 2014 to 2017. The focus will be on the economic effects, the economic efficiency of implementation, and the leverage effect with regard to the introduction and spread of electric mobility.
