By developing a commercial and industrial land use plan, EBP supports dynamic and economic development in the state of Brandenburg.
The state of Brandenburg has been experiencing increasing economic growth for several years. The decision by car manufacturer Tesla to locate in Grünheide shows that Brandenburg is also becoming increasingly important as a business location internationally. To ensure that this growth trend continues in the future, a sufficient number of industrial and commercial sites must be available for companies to locate and expand. In order to promote the systematic recording and promotion of commercial sites, the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB) has initiated a concept for securing commercial sites on behalf of the state, which is being developed by EBP Deutschland GmbH in cooperation with IPG Potsdam mbH and Regionomica GmbH.
The project to create a state-wide commercial and industrial land use plan includes the development of a comprehensive digital land registry, forecasting commercial land demand, deriving an industrial and commercial land use development strategy, and setting up a monitoring system. At the same time, the communication structure between the individual stakeholders needs to be improved. The long-term availability of land is to be ensured by surveying the potential for commercial and industrial land development. The concept is also supplemented by an analysis of specific future topics. For example, the opportunities for coworking in rural areas of Brandenburg are to be evaluated.
The project involves all relevant institutions in the state. Cooperation between the relevant stakeholders is at the forefront of an extensive participation and dialogue process consisting of regional conferences, workshops, and other events, as well as more than 200 individual meetings with municipalities and counties. This ensures that the concept is based on the knowledge of local stakeholders.
