The district of Oberhavel established a climate protection management system in May 2022 and is having an integrated climate protection concept developed by its climate protection manager for the first time. EBP is supporting her in individual areas of this project.

The district of Oberhavel wants to implement coordinated and targeted climate protection management. To this end, an integrated climate protection concept is being developed with the support of EBP. The primary aim of the climate protection concept is to bundle existing activities, identify new priorities, and align climate protection management with a goal that is jointly supported by politicians, administrators, and society. In addition, the process will initiate a broad participation procedure that will form the basis for successful implementation. As a result, the climate protection concept will serve as a steering instrument for all climate-related decisions and planning and enable the coordination of climate protection tasks.
In a cross-location team from Germany and Switzerland, we are developing

• An energy and greenhouse gas balance for the energy, economy, transport, agriculture, and industry sectors in accordance with the BISKO standard using ECOSPEED software
• A potential analysis of the district's scope for action to reduce CO2 emissions and opportunities for increasing energy efficiency
• Two different scenarios for CO2 reduction
• An opportunity-risk analysis in the field of climate adaptation
• A participation concept and
• A sustainability strategy and monitoring concept

We also provide flexible support to the climate protection manager in her tasks.
