We provide agencies with customized economic data, valuation factor libraries, and flexible tools for transportation planning, prioritization, and research. We offer products for highway, airport, transit, and multimodal agency economic analysis and custom-hosted solutions for detailed multimodal and economic development analysis. This position is based in our headquarters located in Boston’s Financial District. We are just minutes away from three T subway lines, Boston’s South Station (commuter rail and Amtrak), and Boston’s vibrant downtown, Chinatown, Seaport, and Public Garden areas.

 

About the Position

To support growth in our SaaS market, we are seeking a candidate to manage our market engagement with current and prospective customers and ensure we provide our customers with the product and resources they need from us. You will work with project consulting, marketing, product development, sales engineering, and customer support colleagues. This role will expand and initiate relationships with subscription customers as we strengthen current offerings and expand our product portfolio. Core responsibilities are divided across the following 3 topics:

  • Build Relationships: Maintain proactive communication with both active and inactive accounts, identify customer pain points, collect customer testimonials and case studies, and monitor customer engagement through our robust CRM and reporting tools and processes. Plan and facilitate personalized training sessions for individual clients to address their unique requirements. Expand product usage across additional operational groups within current accounts.
  • Drive Education, Thought Leadership, and Peer Exchange: Lead outreach for 1) major product updates and launches, 2) events such as education and training webinar series and user groups, 3) marketing collateral such as brochures and videos, and more. Ensure product name recognition among key stakeholders. Facilitate connections among users to encourage the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
  • Grow Impact: Identify agencies and groups within agencies that could leverage our SaaS products to meet their policy goals. Monitor industry trends and state policy changes and analysis cycles. Recommend software changes to respond to trends affecting product fit in target customer segments. Conduct outreach with clients and peer contractors who are potential SaaS users. Map key decision-makers at target agencies. Coordinate with project consultants on customer needs. Manage relationship records through our CRM tools. Attend up to three yearly conferences. 

This position has a strong growth trajectory as the role may take on aspects of the following duties:

  • Product Strategy and Market Research: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to define and improve market offerings. Monitor competitors, understand customer use cases and desires, recommend/make changes to product pricing, and explore new product possibilities. Establish strategic marketing plans. Collaborate with global product teams on existing product launches in new markets or new product development and localization planning.
  • Customer Success & Support: Distribute incoming inquiries to the most suitable team members based on their expertise and availability. Coordinate and manage important discussions and interactions to ensure effective communication. Oversee the smooth onboarding process for both users and clients to ensure a seamless introduction to our products and services. Manage documentation and educational resources. Allocate clients’ licenses to users and monitor contract status and usage.
  • Product Development and Maintenance: Support our annual data release (December – February), address bugs, and implement new features. Conduct R&D, manage client requests for features, implement infrastructure policies, handle data acquisition and integration, and communicate software releases. Plan and coordinate new product and feature release.

 

Experience Required

Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective business interactions with clients and potential customers.

Experience in marketing, sales, or client-facing consulting, including creating collateral and understanding client needs. 

Experience following a systematic approach to decision-maker identification, outreach, and follow-up.
Preference will be given to candidates with subject matter familiarity in the following topics: 

  • State Department of Transportation (DOT) and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) processes
  • Economic evaluation methods (including benefit-cost and economic impact analysis)
  • Project selection methods (e.g., multicriteria rating, cost effectiveness, scoring, and ranking)
  • Long-range transportation planning and visioning for alternative futures (e.g., demographic, technology, and trade trends)
  • Experience in topical areas related to economic development, economics, transportation 

 

Compensation and Benefits

We estimate a starting base salary range of $70,000 to $110,000. Role and compensation will be tailored to applicant capabilities and experience. We welcome both early career and experienced applicants. 

Candidates will be eligible for variable compensation based on business unit performance and revenue growth.
