There is growing appreciation that the benefits of transportation systems should be measured in terms of the access and connections that they provide to commerce and jobs, as well as vital destinations like grocery stores, medical services, and education.
We support cities, regions, states, and transit agencies in understanding who has access to which destination and how proposed projects result in changes to access.
Our services include:
- Developing location-specific approaches to measuring accessibility across modes and populations
- Analyzing travel time impacts of proposed transportation investments to key locations
- Aggregating, comparing, and benchmarking access metrics
- Exploring access by population group, including low-income and minority populations as well as no-car households Identifying business and freight access
- Advising clients on how to integrate access analysis into needs assessment and project prioritization
We work with our clients to develop effective and practical analysis using the best available data and technologies.
